Rebirth and shadows

Reset to come back stronger.

1. Climb until you stall

   Floor 20 unlocks rebirth, but the higher you get, the more you earn. Rebirth when you stop making progress.

2. Rebirth

   On the Shadows page, the button shows what you’ll earn. You go back to floor 1 and your hunter levels and gold reset. You keep your player level, summoned hunters, chests and shadows.

   
3. Raise your shadows

   Shadow essence buys bonuses that last through every rebirth. The Shadow Knight is the best place to start, since it adds damage for all your hunters. Add the Hoarder for gold, the Warden for more boss time and the Sentinel for longer away.

   
4. Awaken

   After 8 rebirths you can awaken. Your essence and shadows reset, and you earn Monarch sigils from all the essence you gathered. Sigil powers never reset. The longer you wait, the more sigils you get.

   

Tips

• Turn the Steward back on if you’ve turned it off, and use a time warp early in the new run.
